The position is 25 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 1.00 pm - 6.00 pm.

Main duties of the job
Job summary:
Receive, assist, and direct patients (care navigation) to access appropriate services or healthcare professionals in a courteous, efficient, and effective manner.
Provide general assistance to the practice team and project a positive, friendly image to patients and visitors, either in person or via telephone. Excellent communication skills are essential.
The successful candidate should also be computer literate with at least 1 year of experience in a public-facing role.

Job summary:
Receive, assist, and direct patients in accessing services, providing general support to the practice team, and projecting a positive image to visitors.
Responsibilities include:
* Understanding all practice procedures
* Working according to protocols
* Providing an effective reception service
* Handling enquiries, explaining procedures, and scheduling appointments
* Managing urgent consultations appropriately
* Explaining practice arrangements to new patients
* Handling telephone calls, messages, and requests for home visits
* Processing repeat prescriptions and private charges
* Updating patient information on the system
* Maintaining the waiting area and ensuring building security
* Opening and closing premises daily
* Registering new patients promptly
* Contacting patients for screening and administering pathology data
* Arranging transport, processing faxes, and managing incoming post
* Scanning hospital letters, managing stationery, and other administrative tasks
* Restocking reception area and undertaking mandatory training
* Using the telephone system effectively and undertaking additional duties as required

Person Specification
Qualifications
* GCSEs in Mathematics and English at Grade C (4) or above
* Additional GCSEs at Grade C (4) or above
* Typing/computer qualifications
* NVQ in Customer Care or equivalent
Experience
* At least 12 months of frontline public-facing work
* Reception work experience with computer use for at least 12 months
* Experience in a General Practice environment
* Experience with SystmOne system
