Road Safety Officer - Education - OX5 2DUNumber of Positions: 1Contract Type: PermanentSalary: 38220 to 40777Working Hours: 37Location: OxfordshireBusiness Unit: Fire Services & Community SafetyAbout UsThe Road Safety Education Team within Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service are a dedicated team providing road safety education, training and publicity, with the aim of reducing the number of road traffic casualties in Oxfordshire.About the RoleAn enthusiastic, motivated and innovative person to join the Road Safety Education Team. You will be managing a small team, will be effective and confident communicator with good interpersonal and organisational skills, capable of working on their own and as part of a team.You will also be expected to work closely with other professionals and volunteers and partners across Oxfordshire and the Thames Valley. Duties will include working with schools and the wider community. This is particularly to progress road safety education in schools and other organisations, which includes working with adults. The work will also involve the organisation and running of education/training programmes, developing campaigns, and attending events to promote road safety awareness to a variety of road user groups. Carry out Quality assurance and Evaluation of Programs and training. About you Knowledge of road safety education, training and publicity is preferred. You may sometimes be required to work outside normal office hours. The postholder requires a full driving licence and must have transport readily available, plus business use insurance. Having access to children and/or vulnerable adults, the successful candidate will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service check.
