About the Opportunity
The Geomatics Principal Surveyor will be working closely with the relevant Technical Director and Business Unit Director.
Key Responsibilities
1. Contributing to our business development activities and raising our brand – keeping existing client relationships and winning new internal and external work.
2. Monitoring financial performance and generating timely invoices of projects.
3. Developing and maintaining a technically capable resource pool.
4. Improving and sustaining our technical advantage through effective knowledge management and facilitating and developing innovative ideas to assist in Value+ targets.
5. Developing relationships with Jacobs PM’s, DD’s, BUD’s, DO’s and VP’s, to develop a good working relationship, understanding their target markets, being aware of prospects being pursued and letting them know where technical advantage can be gained.
6. Developing the external collaborations that will be necessary to help us achieve our business ambitions; with other consultants to complement our skill base and universities that can help us secure / develop the technical skills we need, in particular through new and innovative approaches to learning.
7. Working towards establishing Jacobs amongst the technical leaders in eyes of clients, improving their perception of us through our technical brand and demonstrating that we can add value aligned to their needs.
8. Understanding the clients longer term strategic ambitions and the problems they will face, looking ahead for solutions, focusing our resource training/equipment investments accordingly.
9. Providing direct support as Senior Technical Advisor during bids and project delivery, to ensure effective management of technical implementation and risk during the project lifecycle.
10. Raising awareness of the emerging technologies that we should be embracing and developing that will be of use to our clients, and in turn improve our contacts with their developers, providing them with our insight as to how we see the market needs developing in the longer term.
11. Ideally establish a public profile for technical excellence by publishing papers and participating in external professional activities and encouraging the same in others.
