THE ROLE:
1. Duty Solicitor position based in Birmingham.
2. Attend police stations to represent clients.
3. Provide legal advice and representation to detained individuals.
4. Manage and progress your own caseload of criminal defence matters.
5. Conduct advocacy in the Magistrates’ Court.
6. Undertake Crown Court advocacy where appropriate.
7. Prepare cases for trial, appeal and related proceedings.
8. Maintain high quality client care and case management throughout.
THE CANDIDATE:
9. Qualified Solicitor with 1+ years’ PQE in handling criminal matters.
10. Crime duty accreditation preferred.
11. Excellent communication and advocacy skills.
12. Strong IT proficiency.
13. Ability to manage a demanding caseload with minimal supervision.
14. Pragmatic, professional and positive approach.
15. Passion for publicly funded work.
16. Strong attention to detail.
17. Able to work independently and as part of a team.
