Organisation University of Cambridge Sports Service Salary £20-25 per hour/ £75-85 per game Location Cambridge Contract type (Part time) Closing date 31 May 2026 Job Description Cambridge University Association Football Club (CUAFC) Women’s side is a growing and ambitious club with three teams. Our 1st team competes in BUCS Midlands Tier 1 and our 2nd team in Tier 3. Where appropriate, we maintain squad fluidity between the teams to allow for player progression and team success. Both teams compete in cup competitions as well as the annual Varsity Match against Oxford, a highlight of the season. Each squad consists of around 21 players who bring a positive attitude, strong commitment, and great team spirit.

Session schedule: two training sessions (Friday evening and Sunday morning) and one game (Wednesday) per week.

Job Purpose:
To provide high-quality coaching to students of varying ability, fostering skill development, fitness, and competitive performance in football while ensuring a safe and inclusive training environment.

Key Responsibilities:
•Plan and deliver engaging and structured football training sessions.
•Develop individual and team performance strategies, including technical, tactical, and physical conditioning.
•Ensure adherence to safety protocols, including risk assessments and injury prevention measures.
•Prepare students for university competitions, BUCS fixtures, Varsity and other relevant events.
•Provide mentorship and motivation to students, fostering a positive and disciplined training culture.
•Collaborate with other coaches, university sports staff, and club committee members to align training with club objectives.
•Uphold health and safety, safeguarding and inclusivity standards, ensuring a welcoming environment for all participants.
•Maintain equipment and ensure proper usage during training sessions.
•Adhere to club policies and procedures.
•Stay up to date with coaching best practices and relevant qualifications.

Person Specification:

Essential:
•Recognised football coaching qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or higher).
•Experience coaching football to young adults or university-level athletes.
•Strong communication, motivational and leadership skills.
•Knowledge of health and safety regulations in sports coaching.
•Ability to plan and deliver progressive training programs.
•Commitment to inclusivity and student development.

Desirable:
•Experience coaching competitive university teams.
•A valid first aid certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
