What you’ll do:
1. Deliver engaging and practical Design Technology lessons across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 experience desirable but not essential).
2. Teach and inspire students through hands-on learning, creativity, and technical skill development.
3. Plan, prepare, and assess lessons in line with the national curriculum.
4. Support students to achieve strong outcomes while maintaining a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
5. Work collaboratively with DT departments and wider school staff to support student progress and engagement.
6. Promote health & safety standards within workshops and practical classroom settings.
Who we’re looking for:
7. Qualified Teachers (QTS/QTLS or equivalent recognised teaching qualification).
8. ECTs and experienced DT Teachers welcome to apply.
9. Specialists in Design Technology, Product Design, Resistant Materials, Engineering, Graphics, Food Technology, or Construction.
10. Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage learners of all abilities.
11. Passionate educators committed to helping young people succeed.
What this role offers:
Pay:
12. ECTs / Early Career Teachers: £168.80 – £178.58 per day Main Pay Scale (M1–M6): £168.80 – £232.58 per day Upper Pay Scale (UPS): £243.45 – £261.79 per day
(Pay rates are dependent on experience, qualifications, and assignment responsibilities.)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:15 am – 3:30 pm
