Role Overview
As an RAC Mobile Mechanic in the Service, Maintenance and Repair division, you will bring expert vehicle maintenance and diagnostic skills directly to customers wherever they are, delivering first‑class service from driveways to office car parks. You will be equipped from day one with your own RAC van, fuel card, full uniform, essential tools, and diagnostic kit, enjoying a 40‑hour week that offers independence, career progression, and real work‑life balance.
Responsibilities
* Represent the RAC by engaging with customers on driveways, giving advice, and building a positive experience.
* Perform a variety of tasks – servicing, diagnostics, repairs, and checks – ensuring each vehicle is handled with expert skill.
* Manage stock, complete reporting, and maintain continuous customer communication.
* Think on your feet to make the right call for each customer’s unique situation.
Qualifications
* Level 2 light vehicle maintenance qualification (or equivalent).
* At least 2 years of hands‑on experience as a vehicle technician working with a range of light vehicles.
* A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.
Compensation
* Competitive base salary of £45,370, inclusive of London Weighting Allowance if applicable.
* On‑target earnings up to £57,000.
* Guaranteed overtime option and additional overtime and bonus opportunities.
* 40 hours per week, core hours 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, with one Saturday every four weeks.
