Join Close Brothers Motor Finance Team where you will provide strong financial leadership and oversight during a period of transition. This role is critical in ensuring robust financial governance, accurate reporting, and compliance within a regulated financial services environment.
The successful candidate will bring a proven track record in managing finance teams, delivering timely and accurate financial information, and supporting strategic decision-making in a fast-paced, regulated industry.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Control
* Ensure all daily activities and SLAs within Finance Control are completed, ensuring risk is effectively managed and controlled, and escalating concerns promptly to the Head of Finance.
* Responsible for the Balance Sheet reconciliations, ensuring that key areas are escalated to the Head of Finance.
* Ensure all reporting and month end submissions are completed accurately and by given deadlines.
Projects
* Contribute to process improvement for financial operations, proactively identifying areas for improvement and highlighting any inefficiencies.
Finance Leadership
* Be a strong Finance leader and role model for the Finance department
* Be an active and engaged member of the management team for the Finance department
People
* Manage and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
* Provide oversight and direction to employees in accordance with the firm's policies, procedures, standards and SLAs
Developing Our People: as a line manager, you will be responsible for inspiring and motivating your team, as well as developing performance through coaching. You will encourage your team to take responsibility for their own personal development and provide support through regular feedback.
WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU HAVE/ARE:
* A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with significant post-qualification experience.
* Proven experience as a Financial Controller or similar senior finance role within financial services.
* Strong technical accounting knowledge and familiarity with regulatory reporting requirements.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
IT IS NOT ESSENTIAL BUT IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU HAVE/ARE:
* The ability to work under pressure and deliver results to tight deadlines.
* Hands-on approach with a focus on process improvement and operational efficiency.
* Able to proactively identify risks and issues and able to drive resolution forward
