Robert Half are pleased to be working with a global organisation in West Leeds to recruit a interim Accountant for a 12 month contract. Working in the Group Financial accountant team where external reporting and ensuring compliance is key. This role is all about maintaining financial record integrity in various general accounting functions. Collection and analysis support for financial data for completeness and accuracy.
This is a large and busy company and there is a good chance for this position to become permanent for a canddiate who does well in the role.

What will you be doing?
1. Responsible for preparing and filing of all statutory accounts to deadline and to appropriate accounting standards
2. Ensure the preparation / filing of all other regulatory information as required
3. Review entity VAT returns
4. Maintain relationships with auditors, business unit management and other stakeholders as necessary to drive adherence to deadlines
5. Maintains and documents internal accounting controls.
6. May assist in the setup of processes and procedures
7. Provides guidance and support for both internal and external audits (adhoc, quarterly and annual).
8. Other duties as assigned.
What will be expected of you?
9. Thorough knowledge of principles, theories and concepts in area of discipline. Competent in all job functions and has general understanding of the industry practices, techniques and standards.
10. Develops solutions for a variety of situations and works on projects requiring evaluation and analysis. May refer to policies, practices and precedents for guidance; determines best course of action to achieve results.
11. Collaborates with management and team members within the department/function and other areas of the organisation. May represent department internally or externally
