Overview

OOH Veterinary Surgeon – MiNightVet Plymouth – Permanent or FTC – Part Time – Up to £78,000 Pro Rata

Rota: 1 week on 5 weeks off.

Opened in 2022, our OOH service is based within the RCVS-accredited Woodlands Veterinary Hospital. Due to continued development and progression of our services, we\'re looking for an experienced OOH Veterinary Surgeon to join us on a part-time basis.

We can offer a permanent position or a 6–12 month fixed-term contract, depending on your availability. The contract is annualised, with a 1 week on / 5 weeks off rota (shift times 7pm to 8am, Monday to Monday). There\'s also flexibility around weekend working – these shifts are optional.

This is a brilliant opportunity to experience the buzz of an ECC caseload while maintaining a healthy work-life balance. You\'ll be joining a close-knit, supportive team that aims to fully work up cases during the OOH shift. There\'s always a nurse on site, even when you\'re working sole charge, and we have a WhatsApp support group so you\'re never on your own.

Why Plymouth?
Nestled between the rugged beauty of Dartmoor and the stunning South West coastline, Plymouth offers a fantastic quality of life. Whether you enjoy coastal walks, water sports, countryside exploring or vibrant city living, there\'s something for everyone – making it an ideal place to settle or explore on a short-term contract. The role is based in Plymouth which is commutable from Ivybridge, Kingsbridge, South Brent, Totnes, Liskeard, Callington, Tavistock, Paignton, Torquay and other locations across Devon and Cornwall.

CVS Group is a leading provider of veterinary services in the UK and Australia, delivering high-quality clinical care to clients and their animals.

When you join CVS, we\'ll support you wherever you are in your career. We have the profession\'s best learning resources, development pathways and expert teams to support you with both clinical and non-clinical challenges. We\'ll give you the autonomy you want – and the advice you need.

What we\'re looking for:

* Previous experience in ECC and ideally 2 years post grad preferred – we\'re flexible on the two-year post-gradexperience if you\'ve worked in OOH or ECC

* Confident and competent with sole charge

* Ideally experience with abdominal ultrasound and radiography – support is always on hand!

Relocation support may be available for eligible candidates.

In return we offer the following fantastic benefits:

* Professional memberships funded (RCVS & VDS)
* CPD and further studies encouraged - your learning and clinical growth is important to us!
* Workplace pension scheme
* Health Shield cash plan
* Voluntary Private Medical insurance scheme
* Mental Health first aiders - our people are at the heart of what we do, and your health & wellbeing matters!
* Maternity/Adoption Pay – 10 weeks full pay and 10 weeks half pay
* Paternity Pay and Shared Parental Leave
* Fertility & pregnancy loss policy
* Cycle to work scheme, saving 25-39% on a bike and accessories!
* Discounted pet treatments and products
* Employee Assistance Programme: 24/7 365 days a year helpline to support you and your immediate family when you need it the most
* Access to our benefits hub that offers a wide range of discounts available including grocery shopping, gym memberships, technology, gifts and entertainment
* In practice Performance Bonus scheme
* Save as you Earn Scheme (SAYE) – allows you to buy CVS shares at a discounted rate
* Internal career progression and transfers available – with a network of over 500 practices, we can support you should you need to relocate
