This role is part of BT’s Digital unit, leading digital transformation and delivering customer experiences. It focuses on building an internal developer platform with excellent developer experience, productivity, and embedded security.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Sets and drives the enterprise architecture strategy for DevSecOps, leading road‑mapping, goal setting, project execution, and roll‑out in close partnership with stakeholders.
* Determines viable architectural frameworks that support long‑term maintainability, extensibility, and interoperability.
* Drives architectural assessments, technology selection, and road‑maps.
* Aligns cross‑functional teams through the lifecycle to empower decision making.
* Acts as an SME and expert advisor to other teams and senior management on complex architecture issues, providing consultation to enhance efficiency.
* Leads the conceptualization of innovative services or products within enterprise architecture.
* Mentors and coaches experienced professionals to develop current and future team capabilities and ensure performance.
Skills
* Experience within the IT/Digital industry.
* Experience of enterprise architecture.
* Experience of software engineering technologies (SCM, CI/CD, BDD/TDD, etc.) across the SDLC.
* Experience with agile project management, issue/backlog management, collaboration tools.
* Personal experience of software development in an enterprise environment.
* Multi‑sector experience – telecommunications useful but not essential.
* Architecture experience of software engineering and related technologies.
* DevSecOps practices and capabilities such as SAST/DAST, SCA, SBOM.
* Modern software engineering practices and cloud‑native technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure, Kubernetes).
