Stress Analysis Team Leader
Stress Analysis - Team Leader, reporting to the senior engineering manager, will be responsible for leading analysts at global level. This entails strong leadership on project execution while driving collaboration across the multifunction global execution team to meet business requirements.
Responsibilities
* Interpreting customer & company requirements for effective deployment of resources, tools, and analysis methodologies.
* Effective planning and assignment of analysis activities across internal & external resources.
* Delivering on time analysis activities according to schedules and agreed project budgets with stakeholders.
* Monitoring progress of analysis activities and acting accordingly to satisfy project objectives and engineering design policies and processes.
* Forecasting future demand of analysis activities with business stakeholders to anticipate future internal & external resource needs.
* Estimating analysis scopes of work and associated costs for tendering.
* Enabling continuous improvements in analysis methods, tools, and processes utilized by global analysis resources.
* Approving & validating analysis deliverables where required from global resources, including summary reports and documents provided to customers.
* Managing competencies & skills required for analysis disciplines with required training and development plans for global resources.
* Managing team performance with annual objectives, coaching, and appraisals.
* Managing relationships with 3rd party providers of analysis consistent with company processes, policies and procedures.
* Fostering collaboration across SP&S engineering product lines and locations.
* Fostering company’s values of Grow, Collaborate, Lead and Care.
* Demonstrating accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. Delivering improved safety, quality, reduced cost and cycle through product structuring and optimised processes and tools.
* Contributing to overall strategy for the engineering organization and manage complex issues within functional areas of expertise.
* Driving safety, quality, delivery and cost culture for analysis and the broader organization.
Qualifications
Bachelors or Masters in Engineering;
* Experience with finite element stress analysis of designs.
* Strong knowledge about most common FEA and calculations tools, e.g. Ansys and Pro Mechanica.
* Previous experience in positions as stress/structural engineer, preferably with a system-oriented view.
* Experience in leading and technical coordination of global resources.
* Strong technical background and knowledge of subsea products and projects and stress/structural engineering procedures and methodologies.
* Robust knowledge of the main industry standards (e.g. API, ISO, ASME, DNV, NORSOK).
* Knowledge of design and manufacturing/fabrication processes/materials.
The role requires significant experience from the Oil & Gas industry combined with experience from other relevant industries.
