Role Overview As an Electrician, you will be responsible for the delivery and completion of electrical repairs within our customers homes and empty homes (voids). You will use your training, experience, and trade skills to cover a wide range of electrical repairs, including responsive/emergency repairs, renewals, and fault diagnosis on components, appliances, installations, systems, and infrastructure. You will be a key part of our in-house maintenance team, delivering a service that understands and meets the needs of our customers. As a valued member of the bpha In House Maintenance Service Team, you will be provided with uniform, tools, a company van (for business use only), and a fuel card. Key Responsibilities Complete electrical repairs and associated tasks to a high standard and quality. Deliver excellent customer service, ensuring positive outcomes for residents. Adhere to all SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality) policies, procedures, and safe working practices. Maintain van stock and order materials responsibly. Communicate effectively with supervisors, colleagues, and customers. Attend training, toolbox talks, and appraisals as required. Ensure company property and equipment are well-maintained. Maximise first-time fix rates and productivity. Contribute to continuous improvement and team collaboration. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Compliance with SHEQ standards and training requirements. High customer satisfaction scores and low complaint rates. First-time fix rate and productivity metrics. Quality of workmanship and post-inspection results. Efficient use of materials and van stock. Accurate and timely job reporting. Person Specification Essential: Strong commitment to customer service excellence. Organised, self-motivated, and able to manage time effectively. Good communication and problem-solving skills. High attention to detail and quality. Basic IT literacy for using handheld devices and job systems. Excellent knowledge of domestic electrical installations, with proven experience in diagnosing, repairing, and resolving issues. Good and relevant health and safety knowledge. Experience working under time constraints. NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation and AM2. Certificate in Electrical Installation Parts 1 and 2 (or approved equivalent). Full clean driving licence. Desirable: Demonstrable knowledge and experience in at least one other construction trade to an intermediate level. Good knowledge of NHF schedule of rates. Experience working in occupied homes. Experience and training on working with non-licensed asbestos. C&G 2391 Inspection and Testing Certificate. C&G Certificate 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations or equivalent.
