BAND: 4

DIRECTORATE: Transformation and Partnerships Team: Charity and Volunteers

HOURS OF WORK: 37.5

RESPONSIBLE TO: Charities and Volunteers Manager

ACCOUNTABLE TO: Deputy Director of Transformation and Partnerships

BASE: Farm Villa Hermitage Lane, Maidstone – Hybrid working. Must have valid UK Driving License and be able to travel across Kent Sites.

JOB PURPOSE: Kent and Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust (KMPT) is a Mental Health Trust providing mental health, learning disability, substance misuse, and specialist services to approximately 1.8 million people across Kent and Medway.

We work in partnership with Kent County Council and the Medway Unitary Authority, and are commissioned by Kent and Medway Clinical Commissioning Group and NHS England.

As Social Value Coordinator, your role supports Charity and Volunteer Services in delivering high-quality services across KMPT. You will coordinate the Volunteer Transport Scheme, respond to enquiries, and manage bookings with drivers.

You will assist in maintaining databases crucial for service reporting and governance. You will support the recording, evaluation, and promotion of volunteering and charity activities, actively raising their profile within the Trust and the wider local health economy.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Volunteer Transport Scheme:
* Engage and recruit potential volunteer drivers, including onboarding.
* Coordinate volunteer driver trips and provide support to drivers.
* Lead recruitment campaigns for volunteer drivers.
* Provide administrative support for data management, produce reports and minutes.
* Support monitoring and communication of social value impact, including newsletters and social media posts.
* Manage the KMPT Charity and Volunteer Inboxes.
* Support logging, coding, and reporting of donations and social value.
* Assist with grant scheme management, including monitoring and recoding actions.
* Manage DBS checks for volunteers, escalating risks as necessary.
1. Communication and Outreach:
* Deliver volunteer induction packages and general volunteer onboarding.
* Recruit volunteers through various platforms and outreach activities.
* Assess volunteer skills and qualifications.
* Develop and maintain role profiles for transport volunteers.
* Liaise with staff and external agencies to facilitate volunteer placements.
* Support staff in recognizing and supporting volunteers.
* Respond promptly to charity/support/transport enquiries.
* Assist with fundraising, donations, and partnership activities.
* Support communication efforts, including newsletters and social media.
* Coordinate charity events and initiatives, including seasonal activities and presentations.
* Manage the charity and volunteer inboxes and update the website and intranet.
1. Meeting and Administrative Support:
* Provide administrative support for meetings, including scheduling, minutes, and follow-up actions.
1. Analytical and Judgemental Skills:
* Engage with potential volunteers and assess their suitability.
* Identify recruitment trends and escalate issues.
* Oversee completion of recruitment documentation and support volunteer training.
* Liaise with teams to support volunteer placements and development.
* Support corporate volunteering and community engagement initiatives.
1. Planning and Organisational Skills:
* Ensure compliance with health and social care standards and policies.
* Monitor voluntary service performance against KPIs.
* Support policy development and smaller fundraising events.
* Identify methods to promote volunteering opportunities.
* Assist with external and internal communications and supporter engagement.
* Manage donations, including data entry, thank you letters, and CRM updates.
* Oversee grants process, including inquiries, logging, and reporting.

* Oversee equipment and expense processing.
* Record income and manage donations.
1. Human Resources and Training:
* Provide induction and ongoing training for volunteers.
* Ensure appropriate supervision and support.
1. Information Resources and Administration:
* Handle administrative duties related to volunteers and charity activities.
