The role
As a Licensed Aircraft Engineer, you’ll be at the heart of delivering airworthy and serviceable aircraft to our customer in a fast-paced, operational setting critical to future defence output. This is a role where your technical skills and leadership will directly impact national security and aviation safety, while supporting your own career development in a dynamic environment.
Day-to-day you’ll be required to:
1. Carry out aircraft engineering, line and depth maintenance activities to meet contractual requirements.
2. Ensure compliance with civilian legislation and company approvals for all maintenance tasks.
3. Collaborate with a multi-disciplined team and military colleagues to deliver safe, serviceable aircraft.
4. Supervise and guide team members to maintain high standards of safety and delivery.
5. Drive operational excellence and uphold Babcock’s reputation for quality and reliability.
This role is full time, 40 hours per week and is based on site at RAF St Athan.
Essential experience of the Licensed Aircraft Engineer:
6. Specific technical knowledge in aircraft engineering.
7. Strong understanding of customer and contract partnerships.
8. Supervisory experience in a Civil/Military Aviation environment.
9. Ability to demonstrate practical and theoretical standards required.
10. Full UK driving licence.
Qualifications for the Licensed Aircraft Engineer:
11. EASA Part 66, B1.2 licence
12. Type rating on Grob E aircraft and Lycoming engines is desirable.
13. B3 licence is advantageous

The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve Security Check, Counter Terrorist Check and DBS security clearance for this role.
