POSITION SUMMARY
We are looking for a Sales Engineer to join our team in High Wycombe. The ideal candidate will have a technical background in wastewater treatment and a strong interest in industrial sales and process engineering.
Depending on experience, the role may range from sales support (for a junior candidate) — focusing on data collection, inter-department coordination, and proposal preparation — to business development and sales management (for a more experienced candidate) — involving client acquisition, partner development, and securing new sales opportunities.
This role requires gaining an in-depth technical understanding of Esmil’s systems and solutions, building and maintaining client relationships, and working closely with internal teams to deliver successful projects.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Understand and clearly communicate the technical capabilities of Esmil’s products and solutions.
* Participate in client meetings, presentations, and technical demonstrations.
* Review client-supplied engineering documentation, drawings, and specifications to prepare accurate and competitive proposals.
* Collaborate with Esmil’s engineering team to design solutions that meet or exceed client expectations.
* Translate client requirements into actionable information for engineering, procurement, and quality departments.
* Maintain accurate records of leads, quotations, projects, and client communications.
* Support existing customers and resolve technical or commercial queries in line with company values and objectives.
* Identify and develop new business opportunities, including lead generation and partner engagement.
* Assist in order processing, project scheduling, forecasting, and reporting as required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
* Proven experience in sales to industrial or process-based companies.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to discuss and explain technical concepts confidently with non-technical stakeholders.
* Commercial awareness and a customer-oriented mindset.
* Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
* Willingness to travel as required.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS & ATTRIBUTES
* Degree or background in Chemistry, Engineering, or related fields.
* Familiarity with wastewater treatment technologies and process design.
* Experience with project management tools or CRM systems.
* Existing network or contacts within the water, chemical, or process industries.
* International exposure or multilingual abilities.
* Strong motivation to develop a long-term career in industrial sales.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
* A collaborative and proactive team player.
