Job Description:
Full time 40 hours per week/£14.26 per hour + £50 per sleep in payments

Job Purpose:
Supports the effective delivery of education, care, and independence programmes for learners and young people through supervision of support staff, ensuring compliance with regulations and quality standards.

Responsibilities:
* Supervise the implementation of individual programmes supporting learning, social, and independence activities.
* Manage well-being and behaviour of children and young people, handle immediate issues, and report significant occurrences.
* Support colleagues to maintain professional relationships with stakeholders and refer issues appropriately.
* Act as a positive role model, supervise, and contribute to team performance and development.
* Ensure actions comply with policies and standards, and adapt proven techniques.
* Ensure value for money for service users.
Knowledge / Education / Skills:
* QCF level 3 Diploma in relevant care/children & young people related area or equivalent or higher qualification.
Experience:
* Previous experience supporting the educational and social development of children or young people with special needs.
Responsibility:
Leadership: No direct line management, but indirect influence in the area of expertise. Support staff and contribute to education and care plan delivery. Handle day-to-day issues and report to senior management.
Budgets & Equipment:
Responsible for equipment security, petty cash, allowances, and medication administration as per policies. Adhere to budget guidelines.
Information:
Maintain confidentiality, security, and accuracy of records and data, ensuring compliance with standards.
Communication & Interaction:
Engage in judgment-based communication involving information gathering and explanation. Provide personal and pastoral support, requiring coaching, observational, and listening skills.
Safeguarding:
Protect vulnerable individuals, follow safeguarding procedures, attend training, and be prepared for emotional and physical challenges related to young people's behaviour.
