Overview
Sele First School is a large school. Our Nursery classes offer 39 places. All other classes are organised on the basis of age into national curriculum groupings with three classes in each year group. We currently have 384 children on roll. Further information about the school can be found on our website.
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated Teacher to join our very successful team from Monday 3 November 2025. The fixed term contract covers maternity leave from Monday 3 November until 31 August 2026 or when the substantive post holder returns. This is a 0.5 contract (part time) on the Main Pay Scale (£32,916 – £45,352 FTE).
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for learner achievement within class/classes through effective teaching and learning. You will also be responsible for monitoring and developing an aspect of pupil learning or a curriculum area across the school. Early Careers Teachers are welcome to apply.
Qualifications
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Primary Phase Education Degree or First Degree and PGCE
* Consistently good or outstanding teaching in KS1 or KS2
* Ability to use assessment data to enhance learning and progress
* Ability to relate flexibly and sensitively to the different needs of pupils
* Effective verbal and written communication
* Professionally credible, well organised and enthusiastic
* Resilience, proactivity and motivation
* Commitment to continuing professional development
* Ability to assess children accurately and use data to ensure good progress
Working pattern
The working pattern will be: Monday and Tuesday full days and Wednesday afternoon only.
