Help create a smooth and incredible dining experience for our guests as a Pastry Sous Chef

We are seeking a dedicated Pastry Sous Chef to assist in managing our kitchen operations and ensure the highest quality of our culinary offerings.

1. Assist the Executive Head Chef and Senior Sous Chef in overall kitchen management, including budgeting, staff scheduling, and workflow coordination.
2. Oversee food preparation and cooking activities, ensuring dishes meet high standards of taste, quality, and presentation.
3. Conduct regular inspections of food items, supervise plating, and address quality or consistency issues promptly.
4. Contribute to menu planning and development by providing creative ideas and new dish concepts.
5. Train, mentor, and motivate kitchen staff to develop their skills and ensure professional growth.
6. Manage inventory control, including procurement, stock rotation, and waste minimization.
7. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.
8. Foster effective communication within the kitchen team and with other departments to ensure smooth operations and guest satisfaction.
9. Assist in monitoring food costs, portion sizes, and wastage to optimize resources and profitability.
10. Participate in planning and executing special events, banquets, and catering functions.
11. Report to the senior management and ensure punctuality and professional appearance.


Qualifications and Skills

* Relevant culinary qualification or professional kitchen experience.
* Food hygiene certification is essential.
* Significant experience in a professional kitchen, including leadership roles.
* Strong culinary skills across various techniques and cuisines.
* Excellent organizational and time management skills.
* Leadership ability to motivate and guide a diverse team.
* Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality dishes.
* Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
* Creative mindset with a passion for menu development.
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
* Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
* Physical stamina to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary: £38,000 per year
Average gratuities: approximately £550 per month
Hours: 50 hours per week
