We’re looking for an experienced and passionate Global Acquisitions Manager to join our Acquisitions team on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. In this key editorial role, you’ll help ensure BBC Studios’ portfolio of linear and non‑linear services — including UKTV’s much‑loved channel brands — is supplied with outstanding programming that meets our creative, performance and commercial ambitions.
You’ll play a central part in shaping the content acquisition strategy for our UKTV channels and BBC Studios‑branded services around the world, sourcing and securing brilliant content from external suppliers and distributors.

* A genuine passion for television and a strong editorial instinct
* Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to influence, manage expectations and build collaborative partnerships
* Ability to interpret and assess international content pipelines, identifying what will work editorially for UKTV and BBC Studios channels and streaming services
* Strong organisational skills, sound judgement and the confidence to take initiative and elevate when needed
* Understanding of evolving audience needs and the broader media landscape
🎬 What You’ll Work
In this role, you will:
* Source and acquire compelling content for our linear and on‑demand services across global territories
* Work on iconic channel brands including Dave, Alibi and BBC Earth, as well as fast‑growing streaming brands
* Negotiate complex and multi‑territory deals, ensuring optimal value and alignment with budget, rights and policy requirements
* Build and strengthen relationships with distributors and content producers, ensuring BBC Studios/UKTV is well positioned to secure first look opportunities
* Act as the strategic acquisitions lead for our channels and streaming services outside the UK, becoming the key point of contact for global editorial teams
* Keep the wider acquisitions team fully briefed on shifts in strategy, priorities or pipeline opportunities
* Line manage two Global Acquisitions Executives and an Acquisitions Assistant, supporting their growth and development
* Attend industry screenings, markets and events as required
* Maintain a clear understanding of competitor schedules, market trends and channel requirements across UKTV and BBC Studios services
