Vacancy for Tool Repair Technician / Bench Fitter
Hours of work: Monday to Thursday, 8:00 AM – 4:45 PM; Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Salary: £32,000 – £34,000 (depending on experience)
Job Overview
The role of Service Engineer/Tool Repair Technician is a busy position in our tool service department, undertaking functionality testing, fault finding, servicing, and repairing customer‑owned products or Christie tooling returned to us from hire. It offers the opportunity to build a career in engineering.
Responsibilities
* Visually inspect and function‑test torque tooling equipment
* Dismantle faulty tooling to identify malfunction causes
* Identify spare parts required for repairs
* Assemble and test tools to validate performanceDocument processes on check sheets and job cards
* Assist in other departments as required
Qualifications
* Experience in hydraulics and/or pneumatics (helpful)
* Ability to read and understand mechanical engineering drawings and instructions
* Flexible attitude and willingness to assist in other departments
* Time‑served apprentice training in Mechanical Engineering or Bench Fitting preferred
* Problem‑solving skills for identifying and resolving mechanical problems
