General Operative Factory Department | Balmoral Tanks Limited Location: Thurnscoe, Rotherham (With occasional travel to customer sites in the UK and overseas) The Opportunity Balmoral Tanks Limited is looking for a reliable and motivated General Operative to join our Factory team. This is a hands‑on role supporting the production and quality of our products while ensuring the highest standards of health, safety, and customer satisfaction are maintained at all times. You’ll play a vital role in maintaining our “Right First Time” culture and supporting our commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Work safely at all times in line with company Health & Safety policies and procedures Follow production schedules to meet dispatch and delivery deadlines Use electrical grinding tools and automated lifting equipment to load and unload machinery safely Carry out general labouring duties within the factory and surrounding areas Inspect incoming and outgoing goods to ensure they meet quality standards and customer specifications Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised work environment Ensure all tools and equipment are used correctly and responsibly Wear appropriate PPE at all times Maintain accurate records of personal training and development Support other departments and undertake additional duties as required Who We’re Looking For Experience & Qualifications GCSEs (or equivalent) Previous experience in a similar factory or manufacturing role is desirable but not essential Skills & Abilities Strong interpersonal and communication skills Good planning and organisational ability Ability to work independently and use own initiative Willingness to learn, develop, and adapt Innovative thinker with commercial awareness Personal Qualities Safety‑focused, reliable, and methodical Customer‑focused mindset with a strong sense of accountability Comfortable challenging unsafe or non‑compliant behaviour Positive, flexible, and excited to be part of a growing team Strong alignment with Balmoral’s Core Values and RATER principles : Reliability Authority Tangibles Empathy Responsiveness Why Join Balmoral Tanks?
