Adults Social Worker – Forensic Mental Health

Salary: £37,185 to £50,081 per annum (starting salary for Newly Qualified Social Workers £34,902 per annum, rising to £37,185 upon successful completion of the ASYE programme)

About The Role
This position is open to Newly Qualified Social Workers with relevant experience in Mental Health. The role provides specialist mental health support as a Social Worker within our partnership organisation under the Section 75 partnership agreement. You will be expected to provide reports for the Mental Health Review Tribunal, liaise with external agencies such as the MoJ and MAPPA, and work collaboratively with fellow social workers, the wider MDT, other agencies and community teams.
The role will involve working with patients both male and female across the seven wards, assisting with debts, benefits, and any other practical issues they may have to ensure that they are equipped for discharge and integration back into the community.
The Team
This is an exciting opportunity to join our Forensic Mental Health Team based at Brockfield House in Wickford, which is a medium/low secure unit. Working collaboratively with fellow social workers and the wider multidisciplinary team, you will be part of a partnership that provides specialist support to our patients.
About You
If you share our vision, enjoy meeting people and hearing their stories, and are a Social Worker registered with Social Work England with experience in mental health, we’d love to hear from you. You’ll have a broad understanding of our statutory responsibilities and a commitment to meeting these in a person-centred way. Experience of chairing meetings and the ability to develop strong relationships with partner agencies and the local community are also important. A driving licence and car (or the ability to meet the mobility requirements of the role through other means) is essential.
