Reporting to the Head of Technology, the Technical Consultant is responsible for driving change for their aligned customers through IT strategy, roadmaps, and projects. This includes scoping, designing, and delivering solutions for these customers.
Responsibilities
1. Technical Leadership
2. Work collaboratively with the Sales team to design high-level infrastructure solutions.
3. Work with Lead Technical Architect to align customers with Wavex technology stack.
4. Engage with senior executives from clients to define business challenges and establish technical roadmaps and solutions, developing peer-to-peer rapport and relationships.
5. Deliver the technical aspects of sales presentations.
6. Design high-level solutions, including pricing within the Wavex pricing framework.
7. Facilitate workshops to establish client business requirements.
8. Write technical Statements of Work (SoWs), proposals, and RFP responses.
9. Collaborate within the team for knowledge sharing and provide technical guidance where necessary.
10. Own the technical delivery and implementation of multiple projects simultaneously.
11. Perform low-level design and work with Project Managers to deliver projects on time and within budget before handover to support.
12. Liaise with clients and third parties to discuss project solutions.
13. Be prepared to work out-of-hours on critical projects.
14. Help formulate standardized project plans and best practice guides to ensure quality.
15. Monitor project costs and delivery timeframes, ensuring time recording and task management are maintained daily.
16. Advise the Procurement team on technical equipment requirements and pricing strategies.
17. Represent Wavex positively, promoting and maintaining the company's reputation.
Professional Experience
Must have (technical):
1. Hands-on experience delivering and designing cloud infrastructure projects, especially Microsoft 365 security aspects.
2. Strong technical experience with Microsoft EUC products, including Intune/Endpoint Manager (MDM, Windows Autopilot).
3. Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, and modern desktop management.
4. Experience in Microsoft collaboration and communication tools.
Must have (commercial):
1. Pre-sales experience, including writing SoWs, estimating professional services, and delivering executive-level presentations.
2. Experience in solution costing, including technology products and licensing.
3. Knowledge of various M365 License tiers and features.
Nice to have:
1. M365 Accreditation.
2. Experience with Microsoft Azure IaaS and AVD.
3. Knowledge of networking (routers, switches, firewalls).
