We are looking for an open-minded, collaborative Project Engineering Manager with a breadth of experience to lay the foundations of engineering delivery for the next 25+ years on the Global Combat Air Programme.
The Global Combat Air Programme is an international collaboration between the UK, Japan, and Italy developing a 6th generation Future Combat Air platform that will enter service in the mid-2030s.
Leonardo UK plays a fundamental role in the development and delivery of key capabilities for the Global Combat Air Programme, and you could help develop our next-generation transformational product.
What you’ll do as Project Engineering Manager – Domain Development:
Successful delivery of the Global Combat Air Programme depends on creating an effective tri-national delivery enterprise with a shared sense of identity and purpose. This role is central to this effort. You will work with the domain development team to establish:
* Productive international partnerships
* A functioning ISANKE & ICS domain through workshare agreements
* An overarching set of development and governance processes to facilitate coordinated tri-national delivery, agreed upon by Leonardo UK, Leonardo IT, Electronica, and Melco
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
* Leading technical aspects related to establishing the ISANKE & ICS domain construct (e.g., Joint Venture, Consortium)
* Establishing engineering practices, strategies, policies, and processes for the ISANKE & ICS domain
* Supporting workshare negotiations to ensure technical viability
* Creating commercial agreements that enable engineering delivery
* Providing engineering input to bids and proposals for the Joint Venture or Consortium
This role can be based at any Leonardo UK site and involves regular international travel.

* Significant engineering management experience, preferably with large-scale electromechanical aerospace systems
* A broad understanding of engineering functions, projects, and processes

* Experience across all lifecycle phases: Development, Manufacture, Support
