Graduate Primary Teaching Assistant – The Role As a Graduate Primary Teaching Assistant, you will support teachers across the primary age range, helping pupils to engage with learning and build confidence in the classroom. Key responsibilities include: Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups Delivering targeted interventions in literacy, numeracy, and phonics Assisting with day-to-day classroom activities and lesson delivery Encouraging pupil engagement, confidence, and participation Supporting children with additional needs, including SEND, helping them access learning and achieve positive outcomes Building positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents This Graduate Primary Teaching Assistant opportunity offers excellent experience for graduates considering teacher training or a long-term career in education. Person Specification We are keen to hear from graduates who have achieved a 2:1 degree or above, particularly in: Psychology Education Studies English, Maths, or Science Early Years Education Other relevant subjects You should possess: A genuine passion for working with children Excellent communication and interpersonal skills A patient, positive, and proactive attitude The ability to act as a strong role model Previous experience working with young people through tutoring, mentoring, coaching, volunteering, childcare, or school placements is beneficial but not essential.
