Responsibilities
The Student Safeguarding Coordinator will support the Student Safeguarding Manager in managing safeguarding reports (Report + Support), safeguarding referrals and ongoing complex student safeguarding case management needs that arise daily.
Additionally, this role will take the lead in ensuring that the University is supporting the student community to engage with the Bystander Intervention and Student Consent training modules and manage and log student engagement throughout the academic year.
Person Specification
* First degree or equivalent (i.e. professional qualification or considerable relevant experience)
* Excellent knowledge of the broad Higher Education environment, particularly in relation to Safeguarding, Prevent Duty and E6 Regulation condition – Harassment and Sexual Misconduct in an HE setting
* Working knowledge, and understanding of General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) legislation and confidentiality
* Knowledge of and sensitivity to managing complex areas of Safeguarding and Gender-Based Violence in an FE/HE setting
* Extensive experience of working in a welfare, safeguarding and Prevent environment in an FE/HE setting, managing risk effectively and escalating cases as appropriate to Safeguarding leads
* Experience of working in a multi-agency Safeguarding approach
