Job Overview: As a Wood Mill Operative, you will operate a variety of machinery, monitor production processes, and contribute to maintaining a safe and organized work environment. Team members play a crucial role in the wood processing operations, ensuring the efficient and accurate transformation of raw lumber into high-quality wood products. Responsibilities:
Machine Operation:
* Operate wood processing machinery, including saws, planers, and routers, to cut, shape, and finish lumber according to specifications.
* Set up and adjust machines for different wood products and dimensions.
Quality Control:
* Conduct visual inspections of raw materials and finished products to ensure they meet quality standards.
* Make necessary adjustments to machinery to correct deviations from specifications.
Material Handling:
* Load and unload raw materials and finished products onto and from machinery.
* Monitor and maintain a steady flow of materials throughout the production process.
Maintenance:
* Perform routine maintenance on machinery to ensure proper functioning.
* Report any malfunctions or equipment issues promptly for repair.
Safety Compliance:
* Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a secure working environment.
* Identify and report potential safety hazards.
Team Collaboration:
* Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve production goals.
* Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues to ensure smooth workflow.
Documentation:
* Maintain accurate records of production activities, including quantities produced, machine settings, and any issues encountered.
