An ambitious and inclusive college is seeking a dedicated Biology Lecturer to join their academic team in Newcastle.
Job Responsibilities:
* Plan and deliver engaging biology lessons across a range of post-16 courses (A-Level, BTEC, Access to HE, etc.).
* Develop schemes of work, resources, and assessments that align with curriculum and awarding body requirements.
* Support students’ academic progress through tailored teaching, feedback, and tutorials.
* Contribute to the development of course materials and the overall success of the science department.
* Participate in internal quality assurance processes and attend departmental meetings and training.
* Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and progression.
Job Requirements:
* A degree in Biology or a related life science subject – essential.
* A recognised teaching qualification (QTS or equivalent) – preferred.
* Experience teaching Biology in a further education or secondary setting – desirable.
* Passion for education and a commitment to supporting learners of all backgrounds.
* Excellent communication, organisational, and classroom management skills.
* Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
