International Nurse Coordinator
Location: Portsmouth - Hybrid (after 6 months' probation)
Salary: £40,500 FTE starting salary + 25% extra for Saturdays and 50% extra for Sundays (realistic 1-year OTE: £45,000)
Shift pattern: Monday - Friday between 8:00-20:00, with weekends on a rota basis

About the role

As an International Nurse Coordinator, no two days will ever be the same. You'll manage patient cases from around the world while working from our Portsmouth office or from home once you complete your hybrid training.
You'll play a vital role in assessing treatment plans, deciding when evacuations are needed, arranging repatriations, and coordinating with healthcare providers across the globe. This position offers a rare opportunity to combine clinical knowledge with case management and international medical coordination.
You'll join a supportive team of experienced doctors and nurses; all focused on achieving the best outcomes for patients.
Key responsibilities
Respond to medical enquiries promptly, in line with triage priorities
Liaise with patients, hospitals, and clinicians worldwide to ensure correct and appropriate treatment
Write clear, focused reviews and reports
Update case managers with cover decisions or reasons for non-cover
Assess when and how patients are fit to return home
Provide safe, high-quality, evidence-based patient care with empathy and professionalism
What we're looking for
Minimum 5 years post-registration experience is essential
Broad clinical background (ICU, and A&E is essential
ED, cruise ship medicine, or military medical experience
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Confidence to challenge medical teams when needed
Strong IT skills and a high level of attention to detail
Empathy, resilience, and a commitment to improving patient journeys
UK nationality or unrestricted right to work in the UK
