Job Title Associate - IP Tech Litigation (mid) Role Associate / Lawyer Expertise Intellectual Property Job Location London Description We are seeking a mid-level Associate to join our Intellectual Property team. The ideal candidate will have between 3 and 5 years of post-qualification experience. The post holder will be expected to advise our existing client base in relation to a range of contentious IP issues, with a focus on tech & comms patent litigation. You will be expected to apply your IP knowledge to assist our clients, across a range of technically complex industries, to reach commercial solutions to the legal issues that they face. The firm advises in a way that supports our clients' strategic objectives and is practical and commercial. Key Responsibilities Advise on other aspects of patent law, eg patent licensing disputes and Standard Essential Patents (SEPs)/FRAND. Advise on the full range of intellectual property rights, with a particular focus on patent litigation. Apply your experience and technical background to provide a first-class litigation service to our clients. Provide advice on a wide range of related issues, both non-contentious and contentious. What you'll bring Excellent academic achievement, ideally with a degree in Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Biochemistry, Chemistry or similar. Ideally, have attended and passed the Oxford Postgraduate Diploma in Intellectual Property Law and Practice. Proven experience in patent litigation. A clear understanding of the operation and structure of a commercial law firm. A desire to assist the IP partners to develop the practice and support the strategic objectives of the firm. Flexibility supporting cases across a range of patent litigation issues and jurisdictions. A commitment to regularly update your own technical expertise and to achieve continuous improvement and development.
