Senior Assistant Accountant
Hours:
35 hours (full time) per week, Monday to Friday.
Salary:
£40,000 - £45,000 per annum depending on experience
Location:
Cambridge with occasional travel to other Centre locations
Reports to:
Group CFO

You will play a key role in delivering smooth and accurate financial operations, leading the month end process, preparing reconciliations and management accounts, preparing cash flow analysis, and supporting annual budgeting and audits. You'll line manage the FBC/Impact Accounts Assistant and work closely with Centre teams to ensure financial deadlines and reporting are met.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
* Prepare month end balance sheet reconciliations and prepare the relevant month end journals.
* Prepare month end management accounts.
* Oversee credit control.
* Line manage the FBC/Impact accounts assistant.
* Maintain monthly cash flow reporting schedules.
* Prepare intercompany invoices and transfers, ensuring intercompany balances reconcile at month end.
* Assist with year-end audit.
* Prepare the annual budgets.
* Attend the Future Business Centre operations meetings and own finance related actions.
* Maintain project trackers to track the income and expenditure on Allia Impact grants and contracts, assisting with project claims and budgets as required.
* Support the Group CFO with the preparation of the quarterly Board Packs, this includes the Group consolidated management accounts and support on preparing financials for any ad-hoc papers.
* Review the monthly payroll reports and complete the monthly journal and allocations
* Prepare the monthly pension submission, ensuring this is submitted on time.
* Provide ad hoc support, analysis etc. to the Group CFO & C&C Deputy CFO, as required.
Other:
* Comply with the Allia Ltd Financial Procedures.
* Implement and identify improvements to the systems to ensure they are efficient and fit for purpose.
* Perform other duties appropriate to the job as required.
What You'll Bring
* AAT Level 4 (or equivalent qualification) with proven relevant experience is the minimum requirement for this role. However, candidates who are part‑qualified ACA, ACCA, or CIMA are preferred.
