Job Summary
We have an exciting opportunity for an SMS Clinical Lead to join our Substance Misuse team at HMP Leeds, a category B prison located in Gloucester Terrace in the Armley area of Leeds in West Yorkshire. Free on‑site parking, free gym, and a wealth of training and development opportunities.
Hours & Salary
37.5 hours, Monday to Friday 8–4pm, no weekends or evenings. Full‑time position with an annual salary up to £58,012 per annum (FTE), depending on experience.

Main Duties of the Job
* Provide clinical leadership/management to registered nurses and care teams.
* Deputise for the Deputy/Head of Healthcare when required.
* Coach, line‑manage and develop clinician staff; support or contribute to audits and governance, and help develop and review clinical/non‑clinical Local Operating Protocols.
* Chair and facilitate specific healthcare meetings with the team and partners, provide clinical supervision (training available) and conduct investigations locally and regionally.
* Deliver workshops on clinical processes, documentation, patient care and joint Healthcare & HMPPS processes.
* Support the process of patient concerns, attend partnership meetings, progress actions from HMPPS/partnership meetings, and oversee local patient engagement strategy.
* Lead and support the team with safeguarding, rota planning and shortage management, sign off agency nurse hours and staff payroll.
Qualifications Required
* Registered Nurse Adult
* Current professional qualification (NMC)
* Evidence of continued professional development
* Understanding of multi‑disciplinary and multi‑agency working
* Prescribing skills would be advantageous
* Existing line‑management experience and student nurse mentorship
* Understanding of clinical governance, health and safety, QOF, EBP and national standards
