Applications are invited for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Centre Coordinator to support the newly awarded Medical Research Council Centre of Research Excellence (MRC CoRE) in Exposome Immunology. This cross-institution initiative, led by The University of Manchester, in partnership with the University of Oxford, aims to uncover our lifetime environmental exposures (e.g. to pollutants and infections) interact with our genes to cause and exacerbate chronic inflammatory diseases.
The post-holder will support the Centre Operations Manager and Centre Director to ensure the smooth operation of the Centre across institutions. They will play a key role in event organization, servicing the various Centre committees and working groups, and developing an active online presence for the Centre via the website and multiple social media and blogging platforms. The successful applicant will ideally have an understanding of biological science and experience of working in a higher education environment. They should be confident in the use of communication tools (e.g. generating email newsletters, social media management) and engaging a varied range of stakeholders, such as researchers, industry, and patient groups.
