Join to apply for the Specialist Practitioner School Nursing role at Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust.
Role: Specialist Practitioner (School Nursing) in the Dorset 0-19 CYP Public Health Team, covering the Purbeck and Poole West localities. This is a permanent part-time post of 22.5 hours per week, year round with no weekend working, some hybrid working, and flexibility with hours. You will travel across both localities and be present within teams and schools.
Note: Applications from candidates requiring Skilled Worker sponsorship to work in the UK are ineligible for this position.
Responsibilities
* Lead and participate in the School Nursing core programme underpinned by the Healthy Child Programme and high impact areas.
* Work in partnership with children, young people and families, the Local Authority, Early Intervention Services, Children's Services, Schools and other health care providers.
* Manage members of the 0-19 team, delegating within the skill mix team and sharing knowledge across the 0-19 team.
* Assess, plan, implement and evaluate specialist interventions and packages of care for allocated caseloads; promote independence and autonomy; work within a multi-disciplinary team.
* Advance own clinical knowledge and competence through advanced educational programmes.
* Communicate effectively in verbal and written form when exchanging highly complex, sensitive or contentious information, using de-escalation, mediation, resolution and Duty of Candour where appropriate.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Qualified Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (School Nursing).
* Experience leading school nursing initiatives and multi-disciplinary teamwork is desirable.
* Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check required; the Trust covers DBS costs. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service may present a valid DBS certificate instead of a new check.

* Working days: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and every other Wednesday, 08:10-17:00.
* Travel across Purbeck and Poole West localities; some hybrid working.
