Technical Manager £48,000 GBP Hybrid WORKING Location: United Kingdom (South West - Bracknell) Type: Permanent Technical Team Manager - Infrastructure & Support Bracknell (On-site) | Up to £48,000 Bonus Excellent Benefits Mon-Fri, 37 hours per week | No On-Call Are you an experienced manager ready to lead a dynamic team of technical professionals? We're looking for a people-first leader who can guide, mentor, and inspire a team of 11 Support and Infrastructure Engineers-ranging from junior to senior level-while driving high performance and operational excellence. The Role As Technical Team Manager, your focus is leadership, not hands-on tech. You'll be the go-to for performance management, workflow coordination, and customer engagement, while working closely with internal leadership to track and improve team performance. Your technical knowledge will help you understand the work and support the team, but your strength lies in managing people, processes, and outcomes. What You'll Do Lead and manage a technical team (Support Engineers, Infrastructure & Network Engineers) Oversee workflow, absence, and performance management Report on team performance and present insights to senior leadership Coordinate closely with software delivery teams on deployments Act as the escalation point for customer issues and team challenges Drive a culture of continuous improvement and career development What You'll Need Proven experience managing technical teams (5 people ideally) Strong background in performance management and reporting Knowledge of IT infrastructure (Windows OS, Active Directory, Exchange, VMware, etc.) Understanding of networking concepts (Cisco/Juniper devices) Experience collaborating with software teams or deployments Highly organised with strong documentation and tracking skills Confident communicator across all levels - from engineers to execs SC Clearance (or eligible) ITIL knowledge/certification a bonus (we'll fund it if you don't have it) Linux knowledge is a nice-to-have Previous involvement in recruitment and team growth is a big plus What's on Offer Salary up to £48,000 Performance Bonus (up to 5%) Healthcare, life assurance & pension (up to 10% company contribution) 26 days holiday (plus option to buy up to 3 more) Training & career development opportunities (including ITIL certification) No on-call requirements Flexibility for school runs or report-writing days from home Interview Process One-stage interview, ideally face-to-face in Bracknell (remote available if needed) Ideal Background We'd love to hear from Senior Engineers, Team Leads, or current Managers from environments such as MSPs, Defence, Telecoms, FinTech, or Utilities-especially those used to fast-paced IT support or infrastructure settings.
