Title: Senior Hardware Test Engineer
Location: Dundee, UK (full time)
Grade: 11
Overview
This role is part of the Hardware Engineering team based in Dundee. The team develops and supports complex Mechatronic devices used in banking machines (ATMs) deployed worldwide.
The Senior Test Engineer will work cross‑functionally on design projects that deliver new devices and improvements for our 24/7 high availability solutions.
The role involves establishing and delivering test strategy, including planning, execution, analysis and reporting of results using the latest technology and data‑driven continuous improvement principles.
A Mechatronic background is required; hands‑on mechanical and electronics skills are advantageous. The successful candidate must be a self‑motivated team player with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, attention to detail and excellent written and spoken communication.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and execute test plans for the evaluation of early design concepts.
* Test scripting using LabVIEW, Python or similar tools.
* Undertake testing and debugging of designs to ensure they meet specifications.
* Capture, analyze and report test data.
* Provide technical insight into test data and identify opportunities for improvement.
* Build and set up test rigs to support rapid development cycles.
* Travel globally to customer sites for support or analysis when required.
* Help develop the test team and report team status.
Qualifications
* Minimum HND/Degree in Mechatronics, Electronics, Computing, Software Engineering or related discipline.
* Relevant work experience in an electromechanical engineering role is an advantage.
* Strong knowledge of electromechanical systems such as motors, sensors, and control.
* Experience establishing test strategy, plan and execution.
* Proficiency in data analysis and reporting (Power BI, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
* Experience with test software scripting and automation.
* Experience with National Instruments LabVIEW software.
