Controls Software Engineer
Location: Sturmer / Haverhill
WFH 1 day a week
We are recruiting on behalf of a confidential engineering business for a Controls Software Engineer to deliver automation projects across pharmaceutical, cosmetics, and food & beverage sectors. This is a software-focused role within a stable, close-knit design team, offering long‑term security and technical development.
Key Requirements
* 3+ years' experience in controls / automation software
* Strong Siemens PLC experience (TIA Portal, S7-1200 / 1500) desirable
* Allen Bradley ControlLogix desirable
* HNC or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or similar
* Background in control systems or electrical controls
* Able to work independently in a project‑led environment
The Role
* Develop and implement PLC software for automation projects
* Support commissioning, testing, and fault‑finding
* Work closely with engineering and design teams
* Support service engineers with upgrades and customer queries
* Occasional travel (c. 10‑15 days per year)
Package
* £35,000 - £45,000 (flexible for the right candidate)
* Profit‑related bonus scheme
* Long‑term role within a stable, low‑turnover business
