Restructuring Lawyer
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Restructuring Lawyer to join our national Restructuring team based in the Northwest at our Manchester office. We are looking for candidates who have already established their skillset in Restructuring, are at an aspiring middle or a senior grade, and are respected by their peers in the market. This role offers a strong pathway to partnership for the right candidate.
Responsibilities
* Provide advice on financial and organisational restructuring across the full spectrum including solvent or insolvent business sales and exits, distressed M&A, dispute resolution, asset recovery, enforcement, stakeholder management, turnaround, debt trading, directors’ duties, and corporate governance.
* Work alongside local lead partner Aneesh Prasad and national unit head Andrew Buchanan, collaborating with the wider Restructuring team and national network.
* Interact effectively with colleagues and clients at every level and drive business development initiatives.
Ideal Candidate
* Advising insolvency practitioners on pre‑packaged sales and unlocking disputes;
* Project managing distressed works‑out projects;
* Transactional and/or contentious stakeholder resolution;
* Negotiating multi‑stakeholder and unlocking entrenched (or contentious) positions to deliver on financial and operational restructurings;
* Providing director duty advice and working with the wider turnaround advisor community.

* Equipped to balance the needs of a busy case load and diverse instructions;
* Excellent interpersonal skills and confident manner in engaging with clients;
* Experience in supervising junior colleagues;
* Strong team player working collaboratively with colleagues, including non‑legal complementary businesses;
* Strong work ethic and ability to work effectively under pressure;
* Drive, commitment, self‑motivation and a "can‑do" attitude;
* Ability to exercise discretion and professionalism and exceptional attention to detail.
