Do you have a passion for excellent customer service and enjoy working with animals? Rowe Veterinary Group are looking for a receptionist to join our small and friendly practice in Winterbourne.

As a valued member of the reception team you will be the first point of contact for pets and their owners. The ideal candidate will be professional and efficient with a welcoming and sympathetic manner. In addition, they will have excellent customer service skills, proficient knowledge of IT, the ability to remain calm under pressure, and a love of animals

Key Responsibilities:


1. Greet clients and their pets in a warm, professional manner.
2. Manage appointments, including booking, rescheduling, and cancellations.
3. Handle client enquiries via phone, email, and in person efficiently and courteously.
4. Provide advice on preventative healthcare products and promote Pet Healthcare Plans and insurance.
5. Dispense medications and prescriptions accurately.
6. Process payments, complete end-of-day cashing up, and perform general admin and reception tasks.

Rowe Vet Group (part of IVC Evidensia) is based in the South West, with branches in Thornbury, Yate, Winterbourne, and a 24-hour hospital in Bradley Stoke. We pride ourselves on clinical excellence and providing a patient-appropriate, compassionate service for our clients. You will join a well-established team of over 30 Veterinary Surgeons across the group, a strong, experienced nursing team, and a fantastic support team.

About You

7. Minimum 1 year of office-based experience.
8. Educated to at least GCSE level (5 subjects at grade C or above).
9. Reliable, well-organised, and able to manage time effectively.
10. Professional and caring telephone manner.
11. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
12. Committed to delivering excellent customer service.
13. Confident using Microsoft Office and other computer systems.
14. Strong numeracy, literacy, and attention to detail.


Your shift pattern

You will work 26 hours across 3 days per week, with shifts on Monday from 10 am - 7 pm, Tuesday from 8 am - 5 pm, and Wednesday from 8 am - 5 pm, with inclusion in our 1:4 weekend rota.
