Job description
The NAO is looking for penultimate year undergraduate students interested in starting their career in Accounting! You will gain an understanding of NAO’s key work areas – Financial Audit and Value for Money (VfM). Working location and remuneration
The internship programme will run for six weeks, from 15th June to 24th July, and will be based in our Newcastle office. This is an in‑person internship, so you must be available for the full duration of the programme and able to work from one of our offices. You will receive a competitive pro‑rated salary of £25,089 (Newcastle).
Responsibilities
* You will have the opportunity to get involved in a range of interesting projects that will allow you to see the importance of the work the NAO completes.
* You will work with different colleagues, helping you to expand your professional network and shadow auditors in their day‑to‑day work.
* Tasks you will work on include undertaking crucial research and fieldwork for NAO’s audits and investigations.
* You will have the opportunity to attend a range of exciting training courses about the government, assurance and the role of Parliament.

Educational requirements
* You must be in your penultimate year of university
* You must be on track to achieve at least a 2.1 degree in any subject.
* You must have achieved a minimum of 120 UCAS points (or 300 based on the pre‑September 2017 UCAS tariff point system) or equivalent from your top 3 A' Levels, not including General Studies. If you have 104 UCAS points (or 260 based on the former UCAS tariff point system), you may still be eligible to apply as your application will be reviewed in the context of your socio‑economic background.
