How you will make an impact
Cabrini Health Pharmacy provides a range of services to patients, including clinical pharmacy, dispensing, procurement, sterile and cytotoxic manufacturing, and clinical trial management. As a Pharmacy Technician at Cabrini, you will have the opportunity to learn in a supportive environment with on-the-job training provided by our experienced staff. This role will allow you to build a career in pharmacy and offer the opportunity to study for a relevant technical certificate e.g. Cert III Health Services / Pharmacy Support down the track. The work hours are rostered across a 7-day work week, but predominantly on weekdays.
What You’ll Be doing
1. Providing assistance and support to the Pharmacists in the preparation, labelling and dispensing of medications and sterile preparations
2. Maintaining sterile and non-sterile compounding environments according to regulatory standards
3. Ensuring documentation and labelling are completed accurately
4. Performing medication expiry date checking and rotation of stock and assisting with inventory management
5. Performing ward dispensing and charging based on Omnicell activity reports
6. Reconciling scripts owing and assisting with preparation of H.I.C claims, follow up Medicare and concession numbers, assist with PBS online
7. Managing drug returns from wards/units
8. Receipting, invoicing and crediting of pharmacy stock
9. Attending to general cleanliness and tidiness of the department including cleaning, decontaminating sterile cabinets and microbiological testing
What We’re Looking For
10. Previous pharmacy or compounding experience and/or previous experience in a hospital setting advantageous, however, training will be provided
11. Sound written and verbal communication skills
12. Ability to maintain excellent levels of customer service
13. Well developed computer skills
14. A positive attitude and great work ethic with a team focus
15. Ability to maintain confidentiality in all matters
16. Sound prioritising and organisation skills
