By joining the Council’s Homelessness Prevention & Solutions Team, you can help us achieve our aim, to end rough sleeping in Cambridge!
This post is intended to support the Council’s comprehensive homelessness prevention service. In particular, the post-holder will provide comprehensive support to single homeless people, including those who are rough sleeping or at risk of rough sleeping.
The main focus of the role will be to keep single people from becoming homeless whenever possible or, when homelessness cannot be prevented, help them to get back into accommodation as soon as possible. You will also work closely with the Council’s Rough Sleeper Accommodation Programme, providing practical support to people newly in accommodation.
The ideal candidate will be someone who has, or who shows ability to quickly develop, an excellent understanding of the needs and complexities of a person that is homeless. Good communication skills with those that are vulnerable and keen to know the support available to those that are experiencing homelessness in Cambridge.

Hours: This is a full-time role, for 37 hours per week.

Contract: Fixed Term/ Secondment 12 months
Salary: £32,597 to £36,363 per annum (City Pay Band 4), pro rata for part time.
Location: Mandela House, Cambridge and Surrounding Districts and Home Working
