We are seeking an experienced Buyer to join a well-established organisation on a full-time, permanent basis in Suffolk.
This role will suit a motivated procurement professional with strong commercial awareness and excellent supplier management skills.
Key Skills, Knowledge & Attributes:
* Proven experience within a procurement or buying role.
* Background in sourcing indirect goods and services.
* Strong knowledge of ERP purchasing and inventory management systems.
* Excellent administrative abilities with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
* Confident IT skills, including Microsoft Office and Teams.
* Strong negotiation skills with commercial acumen.
* Positive attitude and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
* Strong organisational skills and a commitment to delivering excellent service.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide procurement and materials management support to operational and departmental teams.
* Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to support business needs.
* Drive continuous improvement activities across the supply chain in relation to quality, cost, delivery, and stock levels.
* Maintain and update the approved supplier database and source alternative suppliers when required.
* Support and develop ERP purchasing and supplier relationship modules.
* Assist with stock control systems to ensure materials are available at optimal cost levels.
* Resolve supplier quality issues and achieve suitable commercial outcomes.
* Negotiate commercial terms with assigned suppliers as required.
* Ensure suppliers consistently meet delivery expectations to support business targets.
* Contribute to the development of purchasing procedures and processes.
* Collaborate with other departments to identify the best technical and commercial supply solutions.
* Provide cover and support for other procurement colleagues as needed.
* Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and health & safety standards.
* Provide cover for procurement leadership in their absence.
