QUANTITY SURVEYOR (FTC MATERNITY COVER) Location: ReadingSalary: £80,000 £90,000 per annumContract: 12-month fixed-term (with potential to go permanent) The Role A leading design & build commercial interiors contractor is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team on a 12-month maternity cover contract. The business delivers fast-paced interior fit-out projects ranging from £500k to £20m, with a typical project value of £1.5m£4.5m. This role will take ownership of multiple live projects, working closely with the delivery and design teams to manage costs across the full lifecycle. Key Responsibilities
* Full commercial management of D&B interior fit-out projects
* Preparing and managing project budgets and cost plans
* Procurement of subcontractors and supplier packages
* Managing valuations, variations, and final accounts
* Cost reporting and forecasting across multiple projects
* Supporting project teams with commercial strategy and risk mitigation
* Liaising with clients, consultants, and subcontractors
Requirements
* Proven Quantity Surveying experience within interior fit-out or refurbishment
* Strong understanding of Design & Build contracts
* Experience managing projects in the £1m£10m+ range
* Commercially driven with strong cost control capability
* Excellent stakeholder and subcontractor management skills
* Degree qualified or equivalent preferred
