Job Overview
We are seeking a part‑time Bioinformatician (Grade 8) working three days a week for the first year with the research team led by Professor Andres Floto in the Department of Medicine, University of Cambridge.
Employment Details
Location: Department of Medicine, new Heart Lung Research Institute on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus.
Type: Fixed‑term, one‑year contract (first instance) with potential for extension.
Working hours: Part‑time, three days per week.
Responsibilities
* Develop and implement advanced artificial intelligence and machine‑learning solutions for the analysis of genomic and clinical data in several ongoing studies within the Floto group.
* Provide bioinformatics support for multiple computational projects in the Floto Lab.
Research Environment
The team works in a multidisciplinary setting with strong collaborations with the WT Sanger Institute, EMBL‑EBI and departments of Biochemistry, Chemistry and Engineering.
