Job Description: Swimming Teacher
Location: St Neot's Prep School, Eversley
Contract: Term time only
Pay Rate:
* £20.00 per hour (school daytime lessons)
* £26.00 per hour (after-school community lessons)
* (rates include holiday pay contribution)
* Minimum Shift: 2 hours
About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Swimming Teacher to join the team at St Neot's Prep School, Eversley. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality swimming lessons to children of all ages and abilities – from nursery pupils taking their first strokes to school squad swimmers working on advanced technique and performance.
This is a term-time only role, with teaching during the school day as well as after-school sessions for children from the wider local community.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan, deliver, and evaluate engaging swimming lessons in line with school and national standards.
* Teach children of varying ages and abilities, from beginners through to competitive swimmers.
* Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all swimmers at all times, following school and poolside procedures.
* Provide clear feedback and encouragement to pupils, helping them to develop confidence and skills in the water.
* Maintain accurate registers and records of pupil progress.
* Work collaboratively with school staff, swimming coaches, and parents where appropriate.
* Set up and tidy away equipment for each session.
Person Specification
Essential:
* Recognised swimming teaching qualification (e.g. STA or Swim England Level 2).
* Experience teaching children across a range of ages and abilities.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to motivate and inspire confidence in young swimmers.
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Desirable:
* Experience working within a school environment.
* Knowledge of competitive swimming coaching.
* Current first aid or lifesaving qualification.
Hours & Pay
* Daytime school lessons: £20.00 per hour.
* After-school community lessons: £26.00 per hour.
* Minimum shift: 2 hours (even if only 1 hour of teaching is scheduled).
* Term time only.
