Secondary Cover History Teacher – Maternity Cover

Start Date: 11th May
Pay Rate: £140 – £200 per day (dependent on experience)
Education People are delighted to be working in partnership with a highly regarded secondary school in Somerset to recruit a Cover History Teacher for a maternity cover position. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate History teacher to make a meaningful impact within a supportive and well-established school environment.
The Role:
* Deliver engaging, pre-planned History lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 desirable)
* Maintain high standards of behaviour in line with school policies
* Create a positive, inclusive, and focused learning environment
* Support students of all abilities to progress and achieve
* Provide feedback and work collaboratively with the Humanities department
The Ideal Candidate Will:
* Have experience teaching or covering lessons within a secondary school setting
* Demonstrate strong classroom and behaviour management skills
* Be adaptable, reliable, and confident in building rapport quickly with students
* Hold QTS/QTLS (preferred) or have relevant experience as a cover supervisor or unqualified teacher
* Have a genuine passion for History and inspiring young people
