5 months contract with a Local Authority Job Summary: • We are seeking experienced and motivated Investigation Support Officers to join a dynamic team in a fast-paced investigative and safeguarding environment. • The successful candidates will support ongoing investigations through research, evidence gathering, victim and witness engagement, and administrative duties. • This is a temporary, full-time position requiring excellent attention to detail, resilience, and the ability to manage sensitive information with the utmost integrity. Key Duties/Accountabilities (Sample): • Interviewing victims and witnesses, obtaining accurate statements, and supporting suspect interviews • Reviewing and analysing CCTV footage; conducting house-to-house enquiries • Carrying out investigative research across police systems and compiling comprehensive reports • Supporting and liaising with victims and witnesses, providing regular updates and safeguarding referrals • Managing exhibits and ensuring the secure handling and recording of evidence • Attending child protection case conferences and liaising with statutory safeguarding partners • Submitting complete and accurate paperwork and ensuring evidential integrity • Keeping up to date with legislation such as PACE, CPIA, RIPA and internal policy • Responding to urgent operational needs, sometimes working extended hours at short notice Skills/Experience: • Strong investigative and administrative background. • High attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office. • Ability to prioritise a varied workload and work independently. Additional Information: • The closing date: 26/09/2025. • ABE (Achieving Best Evidence) trained. • Full, clean UK driving licence. • PIP2 and/or SOTO (Sexual Offence Trained Officer) qualification. • Hours: 40 hours per week.
