Salary - £36,659 - £49,250 plus excellent benefits and career progression
We are looking for permanent Commercial Engineers/Estimators to join our busy Lighting and Grid Department.
Main Responsibilities of the role
1. Issuing quotes as well as ensuring all issued quotes are followed up and information collated to allow effective review of competitive positioning.
2. Act as escalation point for complaints from key customers, ensuring they are dealt with correctly and in line with the company policy on complaint handling.
3. Managing major customer relationships – negotiating win-win deals.
4. Supporting an environment that promotes rapid and continuous improvement and the development of high-performing teams, by personal example.
5. Proactively taking ownership of all aspects of Safety, Health, and Environmental issues related to work and its impact on ourselves and others.
6. Managing projects including procurement, invoicing, and chasing of debt.
What we need from you
1. An understanding and appreciation of DNO and IDNO electrical networks.
2. Experience in a commercial environment, with a track record of developing key customer relationships.
3. A proven record of delivering sales targets in a competitive environment.
4. An understanding of the key issues & challenges relating to New Connections.
5. Numerical and analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and produce it in a clear and logical format.
6. In-depth financial and commercial awareness, with the ability to communicate these to others to ensure that commercial implications are recognized and understood.
7. The ability to make decisions and meet tight deadlines.
8. The ability to self-motivate both as an individual and within a team.
9. A proactive and creative approach to problem solving.
10. Strong oral communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills, with a confident and diplomatic approach with staff, colleagues, and customers.
11. Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise reports, and a working knowledge of mainframe and PC-based computer systems, with adaptability to system changes.
